We can generate arbitrarily long videos at arbitrary high frame rate, while prior work struggles to generate even 64 frames at a fixed rate. StyleGAN-V (our method) generates plausible videos of arbitrary length and frame-rate. Also, unlike DIGAN, it learns temporal patterns not only in terms of motion, but also appearance transformations, like time of day and weather changes. Video generation, however, does not enjoy a similar success and struggles to fit complex real-world datasets. The difficulties are caused not only by the more complex nature of the underlying data distribution, but also due to the computationally intensive video representations employed by modern generators. Developing such a framework comes with three challenges. First, sine/cosine positional embeddings are periodic by design and depend only on the input coordinates. This does not suit video generation, where temporal information should be aperiodic (otherwise, videos will be cycled) and different for different samples. How much radiation do these machines produce? Is it enough to increase cancer rates in the general population? And can TSA agents see intimate details we'd rather they didn't? The European Union has addressed these questions decisively: It bans any body scanners that use X-ray technology. That ban complies with a law in several European countries that says people shouldn't be exposed to X-rays except for medical reasons. In the U.S., the TSA and the vendors that manufacture the scanners - such as Rapiscan for backscatter and L-3 Communications for millimeter wave -- continue to assure the public about the safety of the devices. And they've taken steps to protect passenger privacy by installing software that either creates generic outlines of people or blurs certain regions of the image. Still, many people remain skeptical that airport scanners, in any shape or form, are completely safe. Over the years, ideas have included sprinkling iron in the ocean to stimulate plankton to suck up more carbon from the atmosphere or capturing carbon straight out of the air. Keith founded a company that develops technology to remove carbon from the air, but his specialty is solar geoengineering, which involves reflecting sunlight away from Earth to reduce the amount of heat that gets trapped in the atmosphere by greenhouse gases.
